We created the trial program to give riders time to explore what works for their horses before committing to a purchase.
With guidance from a certified bit fitter and the opportunity to try bits in your everyday rides, you can make a more informed choice with your horse’s comfort in mind.
How our trial program works
1. Let’s talk about your horse.
Start with a virtual consultation or an in-person fitting with Florence. Together, you’ll discuss your horse, your riding goals, and suitable bits to try.
2. Choose your trial bits.
Most of our bits are available for trial, and arrangements can be made for less common sizes or models. There is a non-refundable $20 trial fee per bit, and a credit card is required to secure your trial. Any bits you keep are purchased separately.
3. Take two weeks to try them.
Your trial begins the day after confirmed delivery. Ride in familiar surroundings, pay attention to how your horse feels, and contact Florence if you have questions along the way. Please keep the original packaging and keep the informational tags and their strings intact.
4. Let us know what you’ve decided.
Keep the bits that suit your horse and return those that don’t. If you plan to return any bits, please email Florence or speak with her directly before your trial ends. If we haven’t heard from you, the purchase price of the bits will be charged to your card.
5. Send back any returns.
Unless otherwise arranged, please ship your returns within two days of the trial ending. Bits should be clean and returned in their original packaging with the informational tags. Please use a tracked shipping service with no signature required. Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.
